Welcome to Palisades Tahoe. Where skiers are made & legends are built. Often voted one of North America’s best ski resorts. Palisades Tahoe is known for its world -class terrain, vibrant ski culture, and Olympic heritage. We are excited to share the spirit of these legendary mountains with you and your guests. Whether you were born here, moved here, or are just visiting, these mountains will meld you into the skier you’re destined to become. It’s your moment. The mountains are waiting for you.

More famous skiers call this place home than anywhere in the world. 6 of the 17 athletes from the US Olympic Alpine ski team from the 2022 Beijing games, trained with Palisades Teams. 14 total Olympic medals throughout history. Host of the 1960 Olympic games. Playground for hundreds of ski films. The birth of modern freeskiing. One of the longest seasons in the world. More than 6,000 skiable acres & 400 inches of annual snow. A culture you can’t ignore & won’t understand until you get here. Welcome to Palisades Tahoe.

As you walk through the Village towards the lifts for the first time, you notice your heart beating faster. “Do people actually ski that?”
Yes... They do. And it’s in bounds. All the coolest lines are under the lift for you to watch. That’s what really brings this place to life.

When you’re here on a powder day you’ll witness the greatest show on snow. Known as The Great Fingers Race.

As the morning sun rises across the valley, many of the best skiers in North America are waiting for the first chair at the base of KT-22. Cooking breakfast on a skillet & drinking Red Bull, visualizing their plan of attack.

You'll be watching, front and center as the first skier rolls over the nose. It’s a race to the fingers. 20-30-40 skiers follow, bouncing through untracked powder past the point of no return. The crowd roars. Who will send the gnarliest line down the 40 foot cliffs?

Ride our lifts for a couple days and you’ll be sure to see the show. Who knows who you’ll be standing next to...

Sure many come here for the legendary lifts, deep powder, open bowls, technical steeps & terrain you can’t find anywhere else in the world. But you don’t have to be the best skier on the mountain to enjoy the uniqueness of Palisades Tahoe.

Beginners enjoy a lake view at the top of the mountain. You won’t be skiing in the parking lot like many destinations. You’ll be skiing leisurely at 8,200 feet on our wide opened mountain meadows. Your ride up the Tram to High Camp will offer plenty of opportunity for picture perfect action shots of your day.

There’s plenty for intermediates to enjoy too. Take in the lake views on the groomed ridgeline trails atop most of the lifts. You’ll be watching the locals flip off cliffs while you take the scenic route. Ski powder on some mellow open bowls or cruise down the groomers at Shirley lake. You’ll find 6,000+ acres goes a long way!

After a long day of skiing hard, you’ll want to continue the fun. Ski directly to the après party at the world famous Le Chamois. Known as “The Chammy” to locals. You’ll notice The Chammy’s featured appearances in many of the classic ski films shot here. When you peek your head inside, you’ll find it’s more than a local watering hole. Surviving over 50 years. It’s a museum of great memories with great people from these legendary mountains.

Restaurants: With the longest ski season in Lake Tahoe, the party's just getting started when spring hits. We are the Spring Skiing Capital. So grab some sunscreen & your favorite T shirt. During big snow years, we’re still ripping spring bumps through July.  Enjoy our weekly spring concert series with live music on the KT & Alpine deck. Cheer on contestants in our original pond skimming event, Cushing's crossing. Grab your clubs, with 9 holes of snow golf at Alpine. Break out the snow blades with locals favorite Pain Mccshlonkey snow blade race. The terrain parks are bigger, the wiggles are longer, and the outfits are goofier. Spring skiing at Palisades is something you won’t want to miss.
